( lmsu ) let's be alone together, we can stay young forever.
Lipgloss! Lipgloss of all things! He was a Time Lord, not her driver. He wasn't going to take her to the store just so she could get some lipgloss.
Why did she even need it anyways? Strawberry flavor at that!
The Doctor grumbled to himself as he threw a few switches on the TARDIS, landing at their agreed meeting place. He had no real intention of actually shopping with her. Clara had said where to meet once she was done and that was what he was going to do! Ha, no, no, no. She may have been able to make him fly across time and space to figure out her mystery but he most certainly drew the line at make up shopping.
He pointed a finger at the time rotor. "Not a word out of you, sexy."
Because he could tell the old girl was laughing at him. It wasn't a proper laugh, but the bond between a Time Lord and his TARDIS was unique and special. He knew things about her that others didn't, and she certainly knew things about him that others didn't.
"I'm not going to go shopping with her! You could land me in the mall but that does not mean I am stepping into one of those stores!" The Doctor was very, very adamant about it. Domestics had never been a strong suit of his. He made exceptions for Rose, Donna, and the Ponds. Look at where that got him.

"Right, so - swimsuit. Check. Sunglasses - check. Hat - check," she purses her lips slightly as she roots through the bag. She's already checked that she had's got enough of all the other necessities and she's brought a change of clothes (because you never know). Her red shoulder bag was already packed, mostly because she always carried the same things in it. Her wallet, and 101 Places to Go - it wasn't as if she needed much else.
"Now, what am I missing..." There was no way she was going to give the Doctor the pleasure of her admitting to having forgot something. "Oh right!" she grabs the Marks & Spencer bag off the floor and takes out a new tube of lipgloss. "This is all your fault you know." She grins before applying some to her lips and then tossing it in her bag.
A few minutes later she is out the door and heading to where they agreed to meet. At least she was going to get another trip out of that text message. She feels her phone buzz and glances down at it. "Not even remotely. Hurry it up, Oswald. I haven't got forever!" Clara grins, and shoves her phone into her pocket before running the rest of the way to the TARDIS.
"Do you even have a mobile?" she says in way of greeting, as she steps inside. "What were you texting with?"
no subject
Oh, Martha Jones. That whole situation with her family being manipulated by the Master still haunted over him really.
Then he looked up with a grin, putting the feelings away. "Anyways! Have you got everything?"
no subject
"Absolutely," she hands him the mobile back. "You won't be adding a thirteen to your list this trip. Sorry," she grins teasingly at him.
no subject
Yes, he was quickly talking to deflect the conversation from her possibly asking about a previous companion. Not that Clara was the jealous type. She was the type that instantly knew how he would feel about an old friend and he would rather not go down that route at the moment. Sometimes it was a blessing to have Clara know those things. Other times he truly did regret her knowing him so well.
He wasn't used to not having secrets.
The Doctor takes the mobile gently before returning to the console. "Never did like the number thirteen. Bad number, that one."
no subject
"So, where are we going then?" she grins. "I've been meaning to work on my tan," she looks him up and down. "Maybe you should too."
no subject
Alright, it was a completely stupid idea and they would probably never ever do it. Except Clara was a bit of a novelist romantic at heart, the Doctor figured. She liked all those notions but would never ever find herself doing any of them. Too bossy and controlling to actually let someone sweep her off her feet!
"Time Lords don't tan." He insisted, flipping the large lever on the console. The Time Rotor went up and down and then began the rough and always enjoyable flying.
no subject
"Oh? What will you turn into a lobster? That might be a good look for you."
Her eyes light up when she sees the Time Rotor go up and down, and then the sound - that sound. She holds onto the console with one hand and then links arms with the Doctor.
no subject
Piloting by his own terms anyways.
The TARDIS evened out into the Time Vortex and he simply gazed up at the Time Rotor. Oh, she'd love the place he had chosen. A proper holiday for the English Teacher Miss Clara Oswald. He wondered if he had ever mentioned the fact she taught at the very school where all his adventures had began. Sure, yes, he and Susan had traveled before then. But if not for that school, and Barbara and Ian? He would have never had Clara Oswald on board.
Then he remembered that he keenly avoided telling her that because he liked to have his tiny little secrets around a woman who knew practically everything about him. Though he gave her that practiced smile of his as she linked arms with him.
no subject
She grins up at him, Keeping their arms linked even after they land. "So, where are we then? Space Carribean? Do they give out those flower necklaces there I always wanted one of those. Oh, will there be pirates?"
she's excited, she can't help it. No matter how many times she travels with the Doctor that giddiness when they're about to step out into somewhere new, never went away.
no subject
"Space Caribbean? Don't be daft. Why would anyone want to repeat that part of Earth history? Could you imagine what a Nassau would look like in space?" The Doctor paused. "Hang on, don't answer that, because yes. There is one. You lot are fond with the rather dastardly people of your history."
Instead he raised his free hand and snapped his fingers. The doors to the TARDIS opened and the Doctor escorted her out. "Clara Oswald, welcome to the planet Paradine! Vacation capital of the New Roman Empire. All you need to do is tell the attendant what sort of vacation you'd like and they'll send you to their established habitats on the planet. Bit clever, isn't it?"
no subject
"Seriously?" she smiles. "So I say I wanted something really wild like - a tropical vacation, but I also wanted snow? Could they do that?"
So it wasn't the most wild thing, bit it was just like when he first asked her where she wanted to go - or when anyone asked her her favourite book.
no subject
"Ahh... probably not. They could send you to one for a period of time and then another for a period of time. Though, if you give them the idea, they'll probably find a way to make it." The Doctor said thoughtfully. "Why would you want snow in the tropics?"
no subject
It makes sense to her at least. Not that she's ever been to the tropics, or somewhere particularly snow - not in this life, anyways.
"So I just say the word and off we go, just like that?"
no subject
"You could always have a chocolate cocktail." The Doctor pointed out as he pushed her gently out of the TARDIS and closed the door behind them. "Yes, just like that! Once we check in of course. Can't have us running about unsupervised, now can they?"
no subject
"That's never stopped us before," she smirks. And honestly sometimes that's just a lot more fun.
no subject
"They don't know that." The Doctor scolded quietly. "Don't say it so loud! They'll be suspicious."
:3
"Won't take them long to get suspicious - knowing you," Clara says with a teasing smile.
no subject
Clara Oswald, the Impossible Girl. What exactly did she see when she looked at him? Just the face staring back at her, or the old old man inside that looked at everything and saw only the destruction and pain he brought and felt himself?
"Then you will just make them more suspicious!" The Doctor huffed. "Oh, just chose a location!"
trying the dwtools icon thing for extra icons. sorry if its fug :/
"In that case," Clara says - pausing for slight dramatic effect. "Somewhere tropical. A beach, with the bluest water known to man," she pauses again and then grins. "Just so long as they have those chocolate cocktails you mentioned. You are tanning by the way, it's non negotiable."
its fine! I REFUSE TO USE DWTOOLS SO DO NOT WORRY
The Doctor flashed the man at the desk the psychic paper and beamed when they were signed in. He gave the exact description of the destination Clara desired, which thankfully was provided. Then he turned his head back to his companion, eyes wide as he finally realized something.
"Did you bring a bathing suit?"
only in it for the icons, lol. the things i do for pretty faces.
"Bathing suit?" Clara's eyes widen and she feigns a gasp. It doesn't last long because she laughs. "I could go put it on now if you like. Prove it to you?" She raises her eyebrows.
She remembered this time. She had her bathing suit, her sunglasses, her sandals, she even brought a sarong because you never knew when you may have to look a little bit fancy. And of course she had the lipgloss - which had really started this whole thing.
thats it, imma buy you a paid account!
"You said you wanted a beach! So, clearly, you would of packed one." He grins at her with that grin that says he knows her better than she'd probably like. "No, no, no, no! You don't need to model it! Well, if you'd like to model it I suppose. Why do you humans need the approval of how clothes look? Look at me! I wear a coat and a bowtie because they are cool. Not because other people would like it!"
